Comparison study between a computer aided analysis program using state space technique and SPICE program

In computer-aided analysis methods, the SPICE program is perhaps the most popular because of its simplicity and ease of programming. In lightly dampening systems the solution with the SPICE program could extend over many periods making the computation costly. The modified nodal algorithm used with SPICE is poor for the analysis of distributed and lumped/distributed networks. The state space approach is a powerful technique for dealing with lumped/distributed, linear dynamic networks in both the time and frequency domains. The results show a considerable reduction in the amount of time necessary to compute the steady state response.
