Computer algebraic methods for multidimensional discrete systems

This paper contributes to the behavioral approach to the theory of dynamical systems as developed by J.C. Willems and P. Rocha. It provides some computer algebraic techniques, based on the theory of Grobner bases, for investigating the structure of multidimensional discrete systems, especially their observability properties.
