Polarization Evolution of Polarization Modulation Effects in Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers

The SOP evolutions induced by the nonlinear polarization modulation (PolM), including self-PolM (SPolM) and Cross-PolM (XPolM) of SOA's, are investigated in terms of the polarization evolution traces on the Poincare sphere by simulation. Such that the PolM effects of SOA's can be comprehended precisely. And the PolM effects influenced by the SOA injection current is simulated and discussed as well.
