How to select DC-DC converters

Standard, "off the shelf" DC-DC power converters are growing in popularity. Their general ease of use reduces risk in new product development. However, specifying a power converter for a given application requires more than browsing a supplier's selection guide. This paper is an introduction to often overlooked details that can make a significant performance difference in the end application.
