Variation of the critical feedback level in a 1550nm quantum-dash Fabry-Perot semiconductor laser

Dynamic properties of a 1550 nm quantum dash laser are investigated. Due to an increase in the linewidth enhancement factor (alpha
_H
-factor) with bias current, a collapse in the feedback sensitivity as high as 20 dB is reported.
