Fabrication of three-dimensional photonic quasicrystals for the near-infrared spectral region

We report on the fabrication of three-dimensional icosahedral photonic quasicrystals for optical frequencies via direct laser writing. Optical diffraction patterns measured along the 5-fold axis reveal the expected 10-fold symmetry.
