SMCG method combined multiresolution in application of microstrip circuits

In this paper, we present a synthesis of the sparse-matrix/ canonical grid (SMCG) and the multiresolution (wavelet) basis [1] for the analysis of microstrip circuits which discretized by triangular meshes. Since the MR precondition matrix is very sparse and the impedance matrix also has this advantage through using sparse-matrix/canonical grid (SMCG) method [2], it requires a low memory occupation and computational cost for its generation and application with combining these two methods. The use of the MR precondition technique can speeds up the convergence rate of the the sparse-matrix/canonical grid (SMCG) method of almost more than one orders of magnitude. Numerical results were presented to demonstrate the accuracy and capability of the proposed method.
