Wideband Circularly Polarized L-shaped Slot Antenna

A wideband circularly polarized (CP) slot antenna with L-slot and L-shaped feed is designed. Wideband CP is obtained by truncating a corner of the antenna element, and by exciting the L-slot with asymmetric L-shaped feed line. This geometry introduces orthogonal components with quadrature phase difference to excite circularly polarized wave. The antenna attains an overlapped bandwidth (axial ratio < 3 dB and return loss < -10 dB) of 41.5 % (2.10 GHz - 3.20 GHz) in simulation.
