In this book, an enhancement of the first author's 2004 Ph.D. dissertation, the authors treat the problem of output regulation for a nonlinear control system. There are a number of approaches to, and alternatives in the formulation of, such problems. One of the things that set this book apart is that the authors' willingness to discuss and define the steady-state response. The book provides a deep level of historical review. The book is ambitious and rigorous, tackling some hard conceptual issues in a distinguishable way that the authors have made their own.
