Performance Analysis of Permutation and Rank Tests under K-Distributed Clutter in Radar Detection

In this paper, we analyze the performance of some nonparametric detectors (permutation and rank tests) against the parametric ones. The detector performance analysis was realized by Monte-Carlo simulations, having considered the ideal case of independent and identically distributed (IID) samples of K-distributed clutter, and nonfluctuating and Swerling II target models. The results are shown in curves of detection probability (Pd) versus signal-to-clutter ratio (SCR). Also, we have to point out that both permutation and rank detectors are constant false-alarm rate (CFAR) detectors under IID clutter samples.
