Stability Considerations: Numerical Methods and Control Theory Equivalences

Stability of difference equations is discussed from the viewpoints of control theory and numerical analysis. Several definitions used by numerical analysts are introduced and explained. A number of points of similarity and one of contrast between the two fields are presented.
