Spectral response of a blood pressure pulse to small variations in the waveform's descending time constant

Some cardiovascular diseases cause the descending portion of the blood pressure pulse to change more than other portions. This paper examines how the magnitudes of the spectral components of a mathematically modeled blood pressure pulse respond to a small change in the model's descending time constant, assuming the change in the rest of the pulse is negligible. Physical considerations focus this discussion on the first ten harmonics. Graphical plots of the findings are shown and appropriate conclusions follow.
