The Coercivity of Exchange-coupled Nanolayers

Coercivity of exchange-coupled hard/soft/hard nanolayers has been investigated within a micromagnetic model. As the soft layer thickness increases, the coercivity decreases and the dominant coercivity mechanism changes from nucleation to pinning. The influences of microstructures, i.e., easy axes and interface quality, have been discussed.
