Hydraulic analyzer for catheter-transducer systems

It is well known that during a direct blood pressure measurement when one adds a small air bubble in a catheter-transducer system (CTS) the damping coefficient increases and the natural frequency decreases. This effect deforms the pressure waveforms. Here, the authors describe an instrument that analyses the CTS by applying a sinusoidal sweep frequency and step waveforms. Furthermore, it produces physiological and pathological waveforms for control or educational purposes.<
