A simulation method to estimate pixel noise and successful tracking rate for a three-dimensional particle tracking technique in an arterial model

A simulation model is used to estimate the expected pixel noise and successful tracking rate for a three-dimensional particle tracking technique as a function of the size and number of the tracked particles. The pixel error is shown to be relatively independent of particle size, and the successful tracking rate is shown to decrease with particle number, mainly as a consequence of particle overlap.<
