Simulation of frequency hopping in a GSM network

Simulation is used to assess the effects of frequency hopping on the performance of the Groupe Speciale Mobile (GSM) communication network. It is found that, even in a suburban area, frequency hopping improves the system's behavior. The simulations indicate that the parameter set of the base station systems (BSSs) should be set differently if frequency hopping is implemented to obtain the best performance of the system.<
