Experiments on self tuning regulation of cutting temperature in turning process

Maximisation of metal removal rate and tool life in a turning process is considered in an adaptive control framework. The problem of relevant in-process measurements is focused from a shop floor point of view. Results obtained by a self tuning regulator using cutting speed as the control input are presented and discussed along with the temperature measurement methods for output feedback.<
