Facsimile service quality issues and an objective evaluation methodology on image quality degradation

This paper discusses issues related to facsimile service quality, summarizes technical points to be studied, and describes the results of a customer survey. It also presents a new method for objectively evaluating customer ratings of facsimile images containing scan line errors. A simple mathematical model is proposed that can predict the mean opinion score for image quality with respect to the scan line errors, with high confidence.<
