Management aspect of software safety

The author discusses how safety-critical software projects can be organized to enhance safety. He reviews current software safety practices, examines management's roles, and identifies the areas that must be improved. The premise is based on the thesis that more significant and immediate software safety improvement on current safety-critical projects can be accomplished by addressing the management aspect of software safety rather than the technical aspect. A management hierarchy as recommended in the UK Interim Defense Standard 00-55 (1989) is discussed.<
