Insulation problems in high voltage machines

The insulation of high voltage coils of rotating electrical machines experiences multiple stresses due to mechanical, electrical and thermal conditions. A slot model was built to simulate actual conditions. The sources of these stresses and recommendations to relieve their effects are discussed.<
