A 500 MHz ATE pin driver

A monolithic pin driver with a rise/fall time of 1.75 ns at 5 Vpp, fabricated on a dielectrically isolated, complementary bipolar, polysilicon emitter process, is described. This pin driver circuit consists of a switch, an output buffer, and two differential control elements. A two-stage approach, separating the switch from the output buffer, allows the speed and accuracy requirements of the switch to be decoupled from the load driving capability of the buffer. The circuit performance is discussed.<
