An efficient approach for implementing MAC-level communication circuits

An approach to the systematic implementation of media-access-control (MAC)-level protocols is presented. The approach is based on the separation between the frame syntax analysis and the processing of data carried into its different fields. An example of protocol implementation in VHSIC hardware description language (VHDL) is given.<
