Abstract:
For three years Bell Atlantic has engaged in field trials and more recently first office applications of fiber-in-the-loop (FITL). Much has been learned from these early applications regarding both fiber and power architectures. A profile of the clients that plan and design power systems for FITL is presented, as well as the issues that confront them. Some of the powering challenges that have been encountered during the implementation process are discussed.<>
