A weighted Mahalanobis distance Hough transform and its application for the detection of circular segments

A weighted Mahalanobis distance transform with extended Kalman filter refinement is proposed. It is shown to detect feature points more flexibly in a predefined range around the contour, using low-resolution accumulating arrays, and iterations in incremental jumps.<
