Non-coherent detection of narrow-band modulation for use in an advanced rural radio-telephone network

This paper addresses work being carried out as part of a programme of research into rural radio-telephone communications. Key areas considered and investigated include filtering strategies, error performance and phase integration after frequency discrimination. Some of the specific design aspects and considerations of noncoherent detection of pi /4 DQPSK modulation adopted for use in such a network are presented.<
