A truly modular power plant

The author presents a concept for a totally plug-in telephone power plant. All control functions would be governed by circuit cards which communicate over a bus. Inclusion or updating of a feature would simply involve plugging in a card. Rectifiers would be mounting for 25 A high-frequency rectifiers. A 50 A rectifier, for example, would be a two-slot shelf for 25 A plugs.
