Temperature-dependent transduction characteristics of piezoelectric composite materials

Measurements of the temperature dependence of the elastic and dielectric properties of two NTK composite materials are described. The elastic properties were measured using three different techniques which covered different ranges of frequency. The results, with possibly one exception, are shown to be consistent with each other, and can be related to a large extent to the theory of viscoelasticity by applying the principle of time-temperature superposition. The results show that the same form (Arrhenius) of shift function applies to both dielectric and elastic properties of the materials. The magnitudes of the dielectric and elastic shifts were virtually identical for one type of material but different for the other.<
