Widely extended new method for measuring the impedance (C/sub x/R/sub x/) at high frequencies with applications

A method is described for the accurate measurement of the equivalent parallel capacitance C/sub x/ and resistance R/sub x/ of very high loss materials at high frequencies. The important characteristic of the method is its capability of measuring the value of C/sub x/ extending from 10/sup -2/ to 10/sup 6/ pF and R/sub x/ from 10 to 100*10/sup 6/ Omega . The authors measure the humidity of tea leaves and rockwool by measuring the capacitance C/sub x/ of specimens irrespective of the value of R/sub x/.<
