Field operational R&M warranty

Reference is made to the need for some warranty to be provided by the contractor on equipment supplied to the government which has received considerable attention in defense system's acquisitions. Experience in the evolvement of the formulation and application of a simple field operational reliability and maintainability (R&M) warranty for airborne communication equipment is reviewed, particularly as it concerns the R&M activities prior to field deployment, subsequent implementation in the field, and improvement of the system operational readiness.<
