The paper, by reference to an experimental industrial application of human-centered computer integrated manufacturing (HC-CIM) systems attempts to outline a new, more balanced approach, a balance between technology, organisation and the greatest asset any company possesses, its people. It is an approach in which technology is shaped around people and not where people are fitted around the technology viz. the human-centered approach.<
