The power model of PT and decomposition analytic approach for PT converter

A Power model of Piezoelectric-Transformer (PT) and an analytic approach for PT converter have been investigated in this paper. The main contributions are as the followings: (1). It has been proved by the experimental result that PT is a nonlinear power device; (2). A power model of PT has been proposed and a method of finding out PT's internal parameters has been developed by employing the PT's efficiency formula and multi-frequency equations; (3) Based on the power model, a decomposition analytic approach for PT converter has been given out to decompose a PT converter into two independent-cascade circuits; (4). A PT converter prototype with 50 watts and 12VDC has been built up to verify the proposed model and new analytic approach. The theoretic results are very well coincided with the simulation results and experimental results. The maximum error is less than 6%. So, the proposed power model and decomposition analytic approach are able to provide a powerful tool for developing PT converter.
