Numerical and Experimental Impedance Analyses of a Thin-Wire Antenna in the Presence of a High-Permittivity 3D Dielectric Body

Numerical and experimental analyses of dipole impedance in the presence of 3D dielectric body was carried out. For the numerical computations, the mixed-domain method-of-moments (MoM) using polynomial expansion and finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method were applied. Accuracy of the previously proposed MoM for high-permittivity material was substantiated by comparison between the numerical solutions of FDTD and also by comparing the numerical results with some experimental data. It was observed that in low temperature case, when the water has higher permittivity and conductivity indexes, numerical results of MoM have better agreement with experimental data than that of FDTD results. This happens in the case of very small distance between antenna and scatterer, too. More improvement of proposed MoM is required and under investigation
