Modeling and measurement of radiated emission through a cutout on the power/ground pl

This paper characterizes the power bus noise radiation through a cutout on the power/ground plane of printed circuit boards (PCBs). Analytical model of the radiation is proposed and it is verified by a full wave simulation and experiment. Both the full wave simulation and measurement show good agreement with the model up to 3 GHz. The results show that the radiation through a cutout is substantial at the resonant frequencies.
