Spatial relationship surveys of navigation and surveying instrumentation of NOAA hydrographic ships and launches

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) National Geodetic Survey (NGS) conducted spatial relationship surveys aboard several NOAA ships and launches, including the Nancy Foster. The purpose of the surveys was to accurately determine the spatial relationship of various navigation and survey instrumentation sensor components relative to the centerline of each vessel. Additionally, Reference Points (Bench Marks) were established as an aid to incorporate future installation or relocation of survey/navigation equipment. The surveys made use of precision measuring equipment to gather the data.
