Distinctive physical effects and applications approaching the relativistic lambda-cubed regime

Using small amounts of optical energy, it is possible to drive matter with relativistic intensity. We show unique energy transport properties, X-ray production, and efficient attosecond phenomena coming from microscopic plasmas driven by precisely focused ultrashort pulses of light.
