FDTD based analysis for electromagnetic band gap structure and defect mode of 2D metallic photonic crystals

A FDTD based model is set up to calculate metallic electromagnetic band gap structure for both square and triangular lattice. The defect modes of metallic photonic crystals line waveguide are studied in detail, the operating mode are found in the 0/sup th/ gap. A T-bend coupler with metallic inclusions is simulated on the basis of band computing.
