'STERNE': the CCETT proposal for digital television broadcasting

A research project with the acronym STERNE (systeme de television en radiodiffusion numerique) has been set up within CCETT. The STERNE project aims to specify and develop prototype equipment for digital television broadcasting, according to the principle of combining digital image coding with an adaptation of the COFDM (coded orthogonal frequency division multiplex) coding system to television.<
