Abstract:
The authors provide an overview of the superior performance benefits, ruggedized design characteristics and frequency-agile capabilities of the new RIZ digital solid state MW transmitters for mobile operation. Each system is designed to withstand the shock and vibration of rough terrains and unimproved roads. Once a site is located, the system can be erected and begin broadcasting in hours. In the 100 kW system, frequency can be set anywhere in the MW broadcast band (525 kHz to 1635 kHz) in under 10 minutes (including the antenna). In the 300 kW system, frequency can be changed in less than 30 minutes.<>
