Abstract:
We analyze the blocking and throughput performances in a line medium with one single channel when all requested paths have the same size and traffic is homogeneous. Traffic may be either continuously or discretely distributed with an integer number of slots per path size. The slotted network is shown to have a higher throughput for the same traffic density, and the corresponding gains are determined.
