Femtosecond dynamic exciton bleaching in room temperature II-VI quantum wells

Femtosecond optical pulses of 14-fs duration were used to investigate exciton dynamics in II-VI CdZnTe-ZnTe multiple quantum wells, at room temperature. An exciton ionization time of 110 fs was determined. The bleaching strength of 'cold' neutral excitons on excitons is found to be larger than that from the same density of 'cool' free electron-hole pairs.<
