Modeling human motion for indoor radio channel at 10 GHz

Human body effects can considerably influence the channel characteristics of indoor radio communication systems. In this paper, the human body is approximated with a metallic circular cylinder to deal with a corridor scenario in a deterministic model, which is based on ray tracing technique. The simulation results show a good agreement with continuous wave (CW) experimental measurements conducted at 10 GHz. The nature of propagation is investigated regarding the interaction between the cylinder motion and the walls with the difference of the operating frequency, the size of the cylinder and the distance between a wall and the cylinder.
