Self pulse generation from an Yb-doped fiber without polarization controlled devices

A simple pulse-fiber-ring laser system with the Yb-doped fiber was demonstrated. The fiber laser can produce 1 ns pulse with the devices neither polarization control nor compensation of birefringence.
