Thermal lens correction of Nd:YAG rod laser used with thermo-optical compensation element of solid material

In this report, a marked improvement in thermal lens effect using a higher negative dn/dT, high damage threshold and lower absorption solid material is described. We have demonstrated that a simple method using PMMA led to reduce the total thermal lens by an order of magnitude.
