Optically stimulated and spontaneously generated electron spin coherence in quantum dots

We report the observation of long-lived quantum beats in quantum dots (ensemble and single) due to electron spin coherence, resulting from stimulated Raman transition as well as spontaneous radiative decay of the trion state.
