Probing multiple excitons in CdSe nanoparticles by terahertz time-domain spectroscopy

We measure the polarizability of electron-hole pairs quantum-confined in CdSe nanoparticles of 2-7 nm in diameter by the optical-pump/THz probe technique. The observed many-body effects are compared to self-consistent theoretical calculations.
