Magnetic ordering of sputtered nanostructured Fe/sub 50/Ni/sub 50/ films

The microstructure, magnetic, and electrical properties of as-sputtered annealed nanostructured Fe/sub 50/Ni/sub 50/ films have been studied. The magnetic and electrical properties were used to assess the degree of magnetic ordering. Long-time low-temperature anneals cause both phase separation and ordering in this alloy. However, a fully L1/sub 0/-ordered structure could not be obtained even after annealing at 280/spl deg/C for 1 week.
