New photostable anthraquinone dyes with high order parameters

New anthraquinone dyes have been developed with high-order parameters and solubilities in both positive and negative dielectric anisotropy liquid-crystal hosts. The dyes show high stability and allow the formulation of black mixtures which show good contrast in a range of display devices.
