Innovation in digital AV products and the role of semiconductors

Digital AV products have become another large category in consumer electronics in Japan in addition to PC and cellular phone. This trend spreads in other markets as well. Due to enlarged system scale, LSI and software development is more controlling in the product development strategy and brings new problems. A new approach to common platform LSI has started to improve the total efficiency of development from LSI to the set and overcome the problems.
