4-Port package analysis and measurements including inductive and capacitive coupling between lines at GHz frequencies

The transmission modeling of tiny LSI packages at GHz frequencies is difficult. Both analysis and measurements, including inductive and capacitive coupling of a high speed GHz-order circuit, are described in this paper. 4-port S-parameter measurements using a practical package have been successfully carried out. The GCRL parameters of a 4-port equivalent circuit model have been obtained by a frequency-dependent S-parameter fitting method.
