Solutions to eliminate non-linearity during the readout process on optical disks

This work describes methods to eliminate nonlinearity, which harms improvement in performance of consumer optical disk systems. One is the combination of adaptive write pulse control and write shift compensation for rewritable disks. The other is a new ROM disk structure to eliminate it in principle.
